SUNSET MERCANTILE Presents: ARTSHIP
1994 37th Ave (between Pacheco & Ortega streets)
The Sunset Mercantile Artship is an all-ages community art exploration, learning, activity and exhibit space. A former shipping container-turned-art-space, the Artship got its start at Playland at 43rd Avenue, and found its permanent home with Sunset Mercantile in September of 2022.
Open during our weekly Sunday Farmers Market, monthly Secondhand Saturday markets, and our other events taking place on 37th Avenue, the Artship offers an array of different creative, free, all-ages activities, including:
- Exploring art with a focus on the creative process
- A free library and collection point for book donations
- Activities & workshops including cultural celebrations for Lunar New Year, Diwali & Dia de los Muertos and more
- A focus on ecology, nature, and using recycled materials whenever possible
The Artship regularly partners with local nonprofits like Climate Action Now!, Children’s Book Project, and Sunset Youth Services.
